Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft has announced that Dynamics GP will reach the end of product support and updates on December 31, 2029.
We strongly recommend planning to transition to a modern, cloud-based ERP solution by the end of 2027

Why it's important to start sooner than later.

There are several important reasons to begin preparing now rather than waiting until 2028 or 2029:
Picture
Shrinking GP Expertise: The number of professionals who specialize in GP is steadily declining as many experts retire or move to other platforms, making it harder to find qualified resources for support, development, and maintenance.
Picture
Loss of Internal Knowledge: Team members who understand your GP environment and processes are also retiring or changing roles. Planning your migration while they are still available helps capture and transfer critical operational knowledge.
Picture
Limited Implementation Capacity: There is a practical limit to how many transitions can be managed at one time. As more organizations move off GP closer to 2029, service providers’ capacity will tighten, increasing the risk of rushed or delayed implementations.
Picture
Proactive Risk Management: Transitioning well before the 2029 end-of-life date helps you avoid the challenges of unsupported software, last-minute projects, and stretched resources. A proactive approach supports smoother migration, better planning, and stronger business continuity.

By targeting 2027 -

You retain control over your timing, can evaluate cloud ERP options carefully, and minimize disruption to your operations.

Our team is actively helping GP clients build transition roadmaps, evaluate cloud solutions, and execute migrations in a phased, low-risk manner. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your plans and help you outline a timeline that aligns with your business priorities.
