Installation and Configuration Series

Installation & Configuration -
This two-day Installation and Configuration course develops understanding of technologies and techniques necessary to successfully install Microsoft Dynamics GP. By covering the basics of installation and setup, as well as advanced topics such as optimization and troubleshooting, this course builds confidence and minimizes the installation time. Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005 is discussed as it applies specifically to Microsoft Dynamics GP. The course covers the installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP and the installation of the related products listed in the agenda. This course does not go into the setup and use of the application, as those topics are covered by other classes.

Using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
-
The audience for this course includes people who want to modify existing reports or create their own custom reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. The class is targeted toward application administrators, implementers, and end-users of the reports who need to understand technical aspects of using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services together with Microsoft Dynamics GP and gain foundational knowledge of the application functionality and capabilities.

Integration Manager
-
This two-day course develops understanding of how to integrate outside systems with your Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting application through the use of tools designed to import records safely and easily. There is value in using Integration Manager to safely convert data into a new Microsoft Dynamics GP installation, or to use it in an ongoing way to integrate data from your external business databases, e-commerce solutions, and desktop applications with Microsoft Dynamics GP. The course presents an overview of the available integration and development tools, including the benefits and required skills for each tool. It also provides instruction on the Table Import utility. Table Import enables you to quickly transfer data into any table in any module in Microsoft Dynamics GP, which provides increased import capabilities.

Foundation -
The class is targeted toward data entry clerks, administrators, office managers, CEOs, and consultants who need to understand the technical aspects of Microsoft Dynamics GP Foundation and gain basic general knowledge of the application functionality.

General Ledger -
This one-day course explores the accounting cycle and the processes required to enter financial data into the system.

Payables Management -
This one-day course examines the accounting cycle and the processes required to enter vendor invoices and process checks. This course also shows how to perform additional functions such as adjustments, prepayments, month-end closing, and cash flow control.

Receivables Management -
This one-day course explores the accounting cycle and the processes required to enter invoices and receive payments from customers.

Bank Reconciliation -
This half day course explores the accounting cycle and the processes required to manage cash receipts, cash disbursements, and other transactions that affect checkbook balances. This course shows you how to perform the reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy of your financial data and its relation to your financial institution.

Fixed Assets -
This one-day course delves into the accounting cycle and the processes required to enter, depreciate, and retire fixed assets. This course shows how to perform additional functions, such as changes to asset information, mass changes, partial transfers, partial retirements, and retirement undo.

Workflow -
This course explores workflow from both an implementer’s perspective and an end-user perspective. This course teaches you how to deploy a workflow system, as well as how to submit documents for approval and process them. The class includes discussion about the most common workflow scenarios.



Supply Chain Management Series

Inventory Control -
This one-day course explores all aspects of the Inventory Control module, from initial setup of inventory items and the multiple methods of valuation supported, to the types of inventory transactions that are available and the tight integration to the Purchase Order Processing and Sales Order Processing modules.

Purchase Order Processing
-
This course explores the details of the Purchase Order Processing module, including how to enter simple purchase orders, with minimal to very detailed information, based on your own business rules.

Sales Order Processing -
In one information-packed day, this class explores the accounting cycle and the processes required to enter and ship sales orders. This course shows how to easily manage the life cycle of a customer’s order, from the initial quote to the shipment documentation and final invoicing. It describes how to perform additional functions, such as setting up process holds for quality assurance and linking order documents to purchase orders.

Manufacturing Applications -
This two-day class helps students to understand the technical aspects of Standard Costing, Order Processing, Outsourcing, Material Requirements Planning, Forecasting and Master Production Scheduling, Capacity Requirements Planning, Quality Assurance, and Job Costing. These concepts will help students gain foundational knowledge of the application functionality.



Payroll & Human Resources

Project Series -
This three-day Project Series course explores project management from an accounting perspective. The course offers instruction in how to set up Contracts, Projects, and Cost Categories, and how to plan a budget. It describes how to enter costs for projects, how to perform time and materials billing and progress billing, and how to complete revenue recognition transactions.

Human Resources and Payroll -
This comprehensive three-day course provides an in-depth view of the extensive functionality contained within the Human Resources and Payroll applications. The overall goal is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the Human Resources and Payroll applications, including the capabilities of the applications and how they can be integrated within a system.

Payroll _ US -
The course covers the setup of the Payroll module, including a review of the setup windows that must be completed in order to start using Payroll. It discusses the processing of Payroll checks, including information on using Direct Deposit. The course also describes the options available to maintain and retrieve key Payroll data. It concludes by covering closing procedures for periods, quarters, and year-end.

Human Resources -
This two-day course covers the setup of the Human Resources module and Employee maintenance and recordkeeping in Human Resources. It also covers the Applicant functionality, which makes it possible to track the information needed to hire quality employees. The course also addresses the Attendance functionality, used to track employee attendance and absences through the use of time codes.



Analytics Series

FRx Report Design I -
This two-day course covers the basic report design skills you need to create, maintain, and distribute presentation-quality reports using FRx.

FRx Report Design II -
This two-day course builds on the basic report design skills learned in Report Design Essentials I. Using FRx, you learn advanced report design functionality such as, linking to external worksheet data, linking row formats, multi company consolidations, currency translation reporting, and cash flow.
